Indeed. Giving it thought, I think these documentaries and articles should be limited to historic crimes as much as possible, to limit the likelihood that families of victims are still affected. E.g. Documentaries about historic killers like Jack the Ripper / Sweeney Todd etc. are fine now, and documentaries about currently jailed killers will probably be fine in 50+ years time, but making entertainment shows about current cases or recent murders seems really off when you think of the actual families. And I say that as someone who really enjoyed "making a murderer"... But if it was one of my kids who was the victim? Probably wouldn't be so keen on it.
