They don't. It was a means to make a statement and show unison.
This isn't a new thing for campaigns. Why does a man need to dress as batman and stand on Buckingham Palace to see his child? He doesn't, but it makes a public statement.
However, they haven't condemned those who for whatever reason didn't take part. It's the media sh*t stirring as always.
Like, they even tried to invent some feud between Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Lawrence ffs.
