It's like a YIFY torrent in sound quality, yes. Basically it's like it's optimised for a cinema rather than a home set up... The audio for voices is quiet compared to SFX so you either have to play the audio obnoxiously loud and upset your neighbours when the guns and explosions start, or constantly turn the sound up and down between dialogue scenes and action scenes.

IMO if you're watching alone, your best option is to invest in a decent 5.1 headset, which should eliminate both problems. If you're watching with someone else then your options are limited... You can try bumping up any "clear voice" type settings on your TV / sound system if they have them but that doesn't always help that much.

I've seen quite a few people complaining about this with Altered Carbon and a few other "action heavy" Netflix shows. It's like they think everyone is watching on a surround sound home theatre system with the volume up, basically.
