As an iconic part of British TV history, they could use the house as like a museum or something like that.
It's a set and ultimately isn't iconic at all, partly because it's been majorly altered several times over it's run both internally and externally.

If it remains Elstree wouldn't be able to use it for much more than storage or as a workshop, but studio space is now in short supply and although it's gone quiet again on building a new studio opposite the BB house I think should BBUK go and Elstree lose part of their income they'd have to seriously look at utilising that land - hopefully retain it for studio space.
