Well, they all have compulsory military service so that is part of why they give them special treatment on Men's Day. I think it's really nice. They also visit their female relatives, like grandmothers and stuff, on Women's Day and give them a flower or just spend time with them, it's really cute.
Yesterday I had a meal at a restaurant here in Portugal and after every woman finished her meal she got a special slice of cake delivered to her by a waiter just as an expression of celebrating that she's a woman, for the day that it was. I thought it was so cute. (I couldn't eat it because I'm allergic to eggs but my boyfriend enjoyed his women's day treat!
