freak accidents do happen. The case where that Star trek actor ran himself over comes to mind. However, a lot of things had to happen for this to end up in the tragedy that it did. First, the car would need to be left out of gear with the handbrake not fully engaged, then it would need to be exactly aligned to fall down the path into the water, then sufficient time passed for it to have sunk without a trace (and without a sound) so that they could assume it was stolen .... cars don't sink quickly, it wouldn't have gone into the water at speed.
So, how long does it take to pick up some money from the office. 1 minute, 2? Certainly wouldn't expect it to be more than that, else why leave the baby in the car. A car would not have sunk without trace in that time, so it would have been visible. For me its an awful lot of coincidences
