Default Eastenders spoiler: Double stabbing horror as soap tackles knife crime storyline

Quote:
Spoiler:

EastEnders is set to tackle the issue of knife crime in upcoming episodes as two characters are attacked by a youth gang and left for dead. The tough storyline is being developed with the help of former cast member Brooke Kinsella MBE, whose brother Ben was stabbed and killed in June 2008.

EastEnders will be using the characters of Keegan Baker and Shakil Kazemi in the episodes, which will see the youngsters violently attacked, turning the lives of the Kazemi and Taylor families upside down.

As the storyline unfolds, viewers will see the wide reaching ramifications of knife crime for all those involved as well as the local community as everyone attempts to comprehend the gravity of what has happened on their doorstep.

EastEnders has a long tradition of tackling serious public issues, and this is one of the most important the show has ever embarked on. The episodes are powerful, heart breaking and dramatic, and we hope will help both carry on Brooke’s inspiring message – while making it clear that knife crime destroys the lives of everyone it touches.

Spoiler:

It is not currently being confirmed whether Keegan or Shakil will be written out as part of the storyline but whatever the outcome, the terrible events will rock the families and the whole Square to the core, with EastEnders putting heavy focus on the shocking and distressing aftermath.
The episodes will air late April so I’m guessing the storyline is starting very soon
