Irish Language
Don't get me wrong, I love Ireland and I'm quite patriotic, but people should just get over it. Irish Language is still a compulsory subject in R.O.I and you still need it to get into most collages/universities in Ireland, which I thin is rubbish. When you leave school you will never ever use it again. I have been learning it since I was in 1st class and I don't know any of it. I never use it and don't plan too. The government are just trying to flog a dead horse.
i disagree iv been going to an irish all-irish speaking school for my whole life an i think its great ."When you leave school you will never ever use it again"what about working in an irish school or teaching irish and theres onther jobs too i know a guy who works in a university in Sydney,Australia teaching irish.
The majority will never use it again. The majority of Irish secondary school pupils are doing Ordinary level Irish. You don't even need it to join the Gardi now. I don't think it should go forever, I just think it should be compulsory. I'd rather learn another European language then waste time learning a language that isn't even spoken in it's country.
