Heh if thats about tesco and the current hooha..seems to be the opposite way among people I know. Men who work the checkouts are putting in complaints and such to get the same wages as the warehouse staff. But its mainly women in the warehouses.

Of course warehouse is harder work. But this has gone on for ages and ages now. My dad used to work in a prison in the IT bit and like 15 years or so ago, all the office staff got a HUGE backpay as it had been decided that their work was just as important as the guards and such. Which tbf, IS kind of true. But it ignores the fact that the guards job is more physical and there is a lot of risk involved in their roles. My dad got like 20k or something backpaid.

I can kind of udnerstand the 'its just as important' thing. But I do think other things need to be taken into account too when determining wages.

But I am glad that peoples wages are going UP, rather than others being lowered to bring them to the same level.
