I was in the same position as you, desperate to save videos from youtube and unable to, anyway a mate I know who's a wizard on computers and helps me loads sorted it for me and now I can save them but I save them as FLV files as I was told that the quality is better keeping them that way.
I just went with the flow and accepted his evulation

Add the youtube link to the box on that page and when it's copied to your computer, you can then play the FLV file through the Wimpy player. I can't help you anymore tonight, but if nobody here can help you, I shall give you step to step instructions in a couple of days when I see my mate.
