She's always been a character. One odd thing I notice with a lot of friends who I have had who struggle with bipolar, some tend to be creative above-average, and they perceive the world very deeply (maybe because of the extremes...).... I had a musician friend who really used to struggle with it, but it really pushed them into their craft.

I dunno, it's anecdotal, but it's just an association I've made with it over the years. I'm glad she's in position to get treatment though and I think that coming out will be an inspiration to those others who are still struggling with their diagnosis...
