The OP is rather unsettling, even if we were already aware to a degree about the hidden health hazards in flushing toilets. (I think that it was L.T. who alerted us to how far 'spray' from flushing can travel in a post a while ago)

I never really use public loos except for the urinals so the problem does not really affect me personally, but if I did I think that I would now NOT wash my hands and therefore avoid using the driers and rely instead on carrying a pack of anti-bacterial wipes to clean my hands with.

There is always a bin handy to dispose of the wipes.

Ugh.
