Yeah I don't know that it would
solve crime... I think that's wishful thinking
... but it might alleviate the headaches of long hours and give people a bit more time with their families... on the other hand, it may adversely affect some people's income... but it is very expensive and very difficult sometimes to catch a bus that late (public trans sucks everywhere here), and so when a business has late hours and they're catching the late bus to get home and then back up tomorrow for school... it adds an unspoken toll.
