I have always had a fear of being seriously burnt and now I can see why !!!

Decapitation is certainly the most curious way to go and it would make sense that there might be a level of consciousness until full blood loss.

Perhaps this is why the French used the guillotine during the revolution ,giving a few seconds to gloat at their aristocrats. (sorry, I think that was a joke)
