You can go back and watch "The First Avenger" later to be honest. I wasn't actually a big fan of it when it first came out... but after seeing modern day Cap in Avengers / Winter Soldier I rewatched it and really enjoyed it
. I think it works better as a "Back story flashback" after you know the character, rather than an introductory origin story.
