Grey (weekly) - food waste

Green (every 3 weeks) - all other landfill crap

It's a ****ing military operation and means you need like 3 separate bins in the kitchen
I imagine the pests really enjoy that. That would be a nightmare here with our tropical climate and high humidity... woo hoo year-round pest control

We get trash pickup every week and recycle is picked up every two weeks. They're both 96 gallon containers. It's unique to the city though. The pickup was similar in other places we've lived. My grandmother is outside the city limits a third party company and they allow mixed recycle (including glass).

My recycle is usually at or a little bit overfull by the end of two weeks (a significant portion are Amazon delivery boxes) and we don't really tax the trash all that much. But it's just me and the husband and pets, and we try not to waste food.

If it's heavy trash (like used furniture, dead TVs, large scrap, etc), we take it in directly or we have to time removal every two months... heavy trash alterantves between tree waste and junk waste... I take everything that works to Good Will or put in clothing box if it's clothes, etc... and I take used electronics to a computer recycling outfit if it still works or recycle computer parts for other people's machines when they ask me to fix them...

There is no sense in taking dead electronics to their specific facility. I read here, they sit in a warehouse or just remain in a facility indefinitely... kind of like our used nuclear rods ...
