There's a huge middle ground between an outright ban and what they currently have... But so one seems to be really looking at it much? You just have one side clamouring for a full ban or effective ban and the other screeching "NO RULZ!!"

There are clear ways to keep guns out of the hands of MOST unstable people, especially teenagers, and whilst there's no such thing as foolproof, it would certainly dramatically decrease the number of school shootings.
