Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)

loved it

am especially a fan of the attention for the tiny details to the decade it is set in
Spoiler:

on their earth, in 1964

move over Ioan Gruffudd, because Pedro Pascal easily takes that throne as the GOAT Reed Richards

also
Spoiler:

cool visuals, great story with Galactus and the Silver Surfer, and a great ending, with a nice mid-credits scene to get us hyped up for Avengers: Doomsday next year!

Watch the Skies, a Swedish sci fi film. I expected to see the dubbing not quite matching the lips of the actors, but they appeared to be speaking English. I wondered if they'd filmed two versions, one in Swedish and one in English, but no... As it turns out, it's the first film to use AI to match the actor's lips to the language it's being dubbed into. I thought that was an interesting fact... and it wasn't a bad film either. 7.5/10

The Deliverance. Based on the true story of a family's experience with an evil spirit. A good take on the whole possession thing, I really enjoyed it. 8/10

Crash with Brandon Fraser and ensemble cast, 2004.

It's like every Twitter personality in film form; a racist, a politician, a BLM activist, stereotypes, bad cop, uncle tom's, white passing, anti black Karen, anti DEI freak, black woman named shaniqua...Twitter was birthed from this film lol 7.5/10

Crazy/beautiful with Kirsten Dunst. A cute little love story that I would've loved if I found it in the early noughts 8.5/10

…Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein…I thought it was very good/very well portrayed in showing the story from both perspectives of the creator and the created…which one was the monster…?…I would say neither one of them…the cast was perfect…Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi and Mia Goth and the always excellent Christoph Waltz ……so many heartbreaking elements to the story and so beautifully done…maybe a story as old as time but never loses that emotional journey it is …8/10…

Ooh I was wondering whether I should watch this. How does it compare to the one with Kenneth Branagh and Helena Carter in the 90s?

…honestly I think that you’ll love it, it’s so well done in exploring that creator and created thing …both perspectives are so interesting and is there ‘really a monster’ at all…it’s two and a half hours but such an absorbing watch …the two lead actors are terrific…

I've watched the final Godfather Film last night.

I thought that it was a really good Film, the opera stuff towards the end has got to be the most dramatic final act in the franchise, and I mean that in a good way, it was really good.

The incest between the Cousins could've been done without imo.

But overall I think that it was still a solid 8/10 Film.

In all seriousness, look to On Her Majesty's Secret Service for the movie that's most likely to have that feat occur offscreen.

Lucky bastard.

Speaking of sex scenes, I watched Sinners last night.

The first sex scene between Michael B. Jordan and the chubby woman was something that was not on my bingo card, and something that I wish to never see again.

I always thought that sex scenes were supposed to be fan service?

The sex scene with the pretty woman (I don't know her name) and Michael B. Jordan makes more sense as to why it was included in the Film, until she wants him to taste her drool.

And the other sex scene where the Musician guy wants to taste this other woman's Vagina, even though she had said just prior that she wasn't sure if down below was clean, was really revolting as well.

By default the drool scene was probably the best sex scene in the Film because of the fact that the woman was actually good looking lol, but your best sex scene shouldn't be a drooling scene like wtf!?

The rest of the Film was a bit of a mix bag for me tbh. There was definitely some creative ideas in there which makes me glad that the Film was made, and there were some strong acting performances and stuff.

But some of the execution could've been better, without spoiling certain aspects of the Film, I do believe that there were some plot contrivance at certain points in the Film.

I personally would score the Film a 6/10 as it was creative, but had a lot of flaws imo.

Almost Famous.

One of my comfort movies, I watch it every now and again and love it as much as the first watch. Such a great film. I wish I’d have gotten to experience life as a rocker teen in 70’s America.
