Absolutely Ammi. He is from one of the most impoverished estates in Wythenshawe where lots of families are on the poverty line. He has lived that life, his mum sacrificed a lot for him to be able to follow his dream. Its amazing he is doing something to make long term changes to children's lives rather than throwing a bit of money at it

Well deserved. I'm pretty sure that probably the thing he'd love to see is some decency from this cruelly heartless government and them making sure children get these meals. However good to see real caring and decency get some recognition. Rather than just the thriving of heartlessness which exists with this PM and his stooges. Sadly supported by some of his like minded voters |

Also Manchester United have already organised and given out meals I believe. I'm sure the players including Marcus will have dipped into their pockets for this. Xx

Over 1 million people have now signed Marcus Rashfords petition for free school meals to be extended across school holidays. Well done lad. X

Imagine being tricked in to liking tories so hard that you think starving kids is justified. I feel sorry for that 39% of the country.

Basil and Marcus in number 10. They'd do a much better job than the current bloody muppets.

[Footballer Marcus Rashford has welcomed the
government's change of heart over free school meals. Prime Minister Boris Johnson phoned the Manchester United star on Saturday afternoon to tell him that Ł170m was being set aside to help feed disadvantaged children over the Christmas holidays. Rashford said he was "so proud" of those who had united behind his campaign and that he was "overwhelmed by the outpouring of empathy and understanding".] https://news.sky.com/story/rashford-...meals-12127165 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-54841316 Last edited by arista; 08-11-2020 at 06:47 AM. |

Excellent news and thanks to his persistence and the campaign he has led on this.
Another deceit shown by the government who stated that universal credit was enough to cover the needs of this and that they couldn't do any more. Now they suddenly can. Showing it could have all been avoided in the first place. It's fine and good to u turn on things, however when it's the right decision to do in the first place, they shouldn't be dragged by being shamed to do the right things. It's like they try to see what can they get away with rather than set up what's right straight off. Well done to Marcus on this. He warrants many thanks from those affected by this and who desperately need it too. Great to see the right thing done eventually by the government, after the unnecessary added stress they brought in refusing to do any more for weeks on end. The true spirit of the UK shining through this lovely man. If only we didn't have a government that shrouds us in misery the rest of the time. We like America deserve better.
