Default So have you sent your 150.00 Council Tax rebate straight to your energy supplier?

wait for the poll!

So there was this Victor Mildrew type on Nick F this morning saying that alot of pensioners get their warm home cash in December instead of using it to pay their energy bills they buy presents for their ungrateful children and grandchildren

He said he rang up his energy supplied to deposit his 150.00 rebate with them and he was told he was the first one to do it

so what will you do, hold on to it, or add it to your energy account?

Probably already spent it.

My energy bill is not changing because of a rebate I got on my council tax. They're two bills that still need paying so I don't see the point unless you're in a lot of debt that you need to pay off your energy bill to stay adrift.

I paid my CT bill in 2021 outright (have done this a few times over the last 7 or 8 years, it's always great to have it out the way but a system shock to go back to paying monthly ) so I didn't have an active direct debit when the £150 was issued - so they just took it straight off my CT bill . Didn't get the choice. Swings and roundabouts though, doesn't really matter which bill it comes off I guess.

Are you sure it wasn't applied to your council tax bill? If you've not had it into your account by now, it probably was.

After posting that I actually had a letter waiting for me when I got home about it lol

I'm not on direct debit either so they need me to give my account details for them to pay it. I thought they weren't doing it as deductions from the bill but maybe it varies council by council

You are entitled to it, if you are in Band A to D. If you don’t pay by DD you might need to check how to get it as every council is different

Everything will go into the pot, we are ok until February as our fixed term ends then.
Only pay £96 a month and are in credit.
Big shock coming in February no doubt.
