Default Justin Bieber has sold his Music Rights £162Million

Hipgnosis
understands some of his tracks are played
a Billion times.
Every future playing, they get the Cash.

So up to 2021
they own his music.

Anything he makes from Now
he can own himself

[Justin Bieber has sold his share of the rights
to his music to Hipgnosis Songs Capital for a
reported $200m (£162m).
The firm now owns the pop star's stake in
some of the biggest hits of recent years,
including Baby and Sorry]

Good idea. He hardly has a back catalogue to compete with the Beatles. His current health issues might make recording in the future, really, really difficult, so (most) wise to get the bag while he can.

I can’t abide that Aretha Franklin song you highlighted in the other thread but I accept that many people love the song .. or her

Reminds me of my elderly grandmother who attacks everyone’s music taste because she thinks music was better back in her day. I have to remind her that people have different tastes.

June last year.

He has been un well
and not performing any music.

So by selling his rights until 2021
was wise for him.

The world would be a better place if all the wealthy folk gave as much to charity as Bieber does .

The poor guy fights against depression and anxiety plus last year he was diagnosed with Lyme disease so he’s hardly ‘living the dream’ .
