Ladies of the forum: Every smart shopper knows that buying the right clothes, with the right cut, made with good material to suit the design: regardless of the price tag - works. I recently bought this from George at Asda. Cost ... a super budget dress for a measely £16. It is GORGEOUS on..... absolutely stunning and looks far more expensive - and when I mentioned where I bought it: jaws dropped. It hugs in all the right places and the cut/material is fab. Don't let your mind be blinded by 'Designer Labels'...... that's all I'm saying.

thank you Kate and Kizzy. It's a 'stoater' as we say up here. Seriously: I've snapped up a few George at Asda bargain: but this has to be right up there as far as quality and cost is concerned. I NEVER get real good bargain just about: so to say I was well chuffed - even more that it suited me so well......... I felt like a million dollars.

Looks lovely Pyra George do a lot of nice clothes. On a similar, cheap note, I find Primark are really great for t-shirts, far better than most other high street brands actually. People look down their nose at Primark a lot but it's great for the price.

apologies Josy, we both went off topic and were at fault, I'll stick to the theme. Zee Primark is great, there's a large one in Liverpool, I go there a fair bit.

Thanks folks..... it is lovely on... but if it wasn't the right cut/material etc: it wouldn't look so nice! just to confirm that I 'm not just copying and pasting from Asda websites: here's the inside... unlined but hey: for 16 squiddles.... I aint complaining! and look... NOT a bit of fake tan rubbed off on it. Last edited by Pyramid*; 19-05-2012 at 01:09 PM.

Often I mix and match very cheap clothes - that look great - and when they are matched with one expensive item: everyone ASSUMES the whole 'outfit' is expensive. Us Scots might be 'tight' but we're canny.

Primark stuff can be more than okay. I don't see the need for all this snobbery... and for those who beat the ''child slavery/ working in poor conditions' drum: until every single person ceases to buy (or use) most electronic equipment as one small example: (seeing as the majority of it is manufacturered and produced under the same conditions as Primark....and that INCLUDE some of the big designers as well as high street favs: M&S / Next etc)........ so before there are any such criticism to be let loose on here: let's not be too critical.

Michael; unless you have something to post that is to do with the thread... I'd really appreciate if you could either add to the subject - ie: nice clothes don't have to be expensive: rather than trying to derail the thread. Thanks very much.

I'm sorry but that has nothing to do with the thread. That is some one else purchasing very expensive clothing. It is the complete OPPOSITE of what the thread is discussing.

Nothing. Because it has not one thing to do with the thread and bargains that can be had for very little money. If I wanted to discuss a programme or a show: I'd have put this in the respective section. As it is : it is in general chat and is clearly to discuss good bargain clothing that can be bought without spending too much money.
