Producers dismiss Ray's threat to quit

Big Brother producers says they are not taking Ray's threat of walking out of the show seriously.

The Irish IT worker told the other housemates he was on the point of quitting the house after he was on the losing side in a tug-of-war challenge.

But producers claim it is not uncommon for housemates to feel this way, especially at the start of the series.

A Channel 4 spokesman : "We are not too concerned. It is not uncommon for housemates to feel this way, especially in the first few weeks."

Ray described living in the house as "pure torture" and told the other housemates: "'I feel like quitting. I feel like walking out."
