It releases pressure which may cause the radiators to not evenly distribute heat. Basically, you unscrew the side a bit, water spurts out at you, and you close it up again.

It's to get rid of air, not water. You should stop when the water spits out. I can do it, it's easy...the hardest thing is finding where I put the key after the last time!

Radiators get air locks and you need a little rad key , you have to go in order of the radiators around the house and bleed them , or sometimes the airlock will move on to next one (rad stays cold) then you get a lovely warm house.

I can bleed a radiator, change a plug,install an electric cooker,put shelves up ,wallpaper,and I is a lady,lol,my dad taught me all I know,but thankfully I dont have to do it often now.
