![]() Teams: Switzerland Ecuador France Honduras Star Players: Karim Benzema & Paul Pogba (France) Antonio Valencia & Felipe Caicedo (Ecuador) Wilson Palacios & Emilio Izaguirre (Honduras) Ricardo Rodriguez & Josip Drmic (Switzerland) Group Winner Odds: France - 4/5 Switzerland - 5/2 Ecuador - 10/3 Honduras - 22/1 Locke's Expert Analysis: France definitely the strongest team on paper although Switzerland and Ecuador are definitely capable of pulling off an upset.. It's not going to happen for Honduras I'm afraid. France really under performed at the 2010 World Cup and only took 1 point from their 3 games, but that won't happen again and I expect them to go quite far. France & Switzerland to go through, don't trust a team relying on Antonio Valencia to turn up. Last edited by Locke.; 20-06-2014 at 08:36 PM. |

France will finish first with 2 wins and tie with the Swiss. Switzerland and Ecuador are the ones who will try to upset the group favorite France, but probably fail. Ecuador has a good offence and midfield, but Switzerland has as good as theirs and a good defence as well, which will turn the tide for them to finish second in their group.
Honduras will lose all of it´s games with rough numbers. They´ll be happy to score a single goal in the tournament. |

France with great odds to win the group, judging from Ecuador's performance the other night they haven't got to much to worry France and the Swiss are still living of that win against Spain years on

The form of this Swiss team is amazing, think I along with most others may have underestimated them

The more i watch rodriguez, the more he convinces me that he should be the one to replace evra and not luke shaw.
5 goals and 9 assists last season not bad. More than any of our midfielders

It seems like Wolfsburg aren't willing to sell though, and they don't need money. I think Rodriguez would be first choice for most clubs that need a LB (which is quite a few this summer).
Shaqiri looking decent here too, we've been linked with him quite a bit recently. |

Commentators are being a bit annoying.. Switzerland have dominated since the goal and it's just a matter of time until they get a breakthrough

Mehmedi comes on at half time and scores in the 47th minute
Was that his first touch? |

Deserved goal and win for Switzerland. But i feel bad for Ecuador, though. Crushing and i think decisive loss for them.
