The Apprentice 2014 winner Mark Wright could be deported in 2017
Quote:
Winner of The Apprentice 2014 Mark Wright could be forced to leave the UK when his current visa expires in 2017.
The Aussie born winner is currently in Britain on an Ancestral Visa which will end in two years’ time.
He’ll then have to apply for either an extension or British citizenship, but will have to head back to Australia if neither is granted.
At the weekend Lord Sugar invested £250,000 into Mark’s digital advertising agency and the Apprentice boss isn’t concerned about any potential visa issues.
He said: “I am sure we will have no problem getting a work visa here for him because he is starting up a business.”
“He has got a free right to work until then [2017], and he will either extend it or probably apply for permanent residence at that point,” an immigration source told The Sun newspaper today. “Normally it is not a problem and he will be working for Alan Sugar, so I would guess that he is fine.
“If you don’t qualify to extend then you would have to leave the country at the end of your current visa.”
A spokesman for Mark Wright added to the newapaper: “Mark has an ancestry visa; his paternal grandmother was born in anchester. He will apply to extend his visa before it expires in 2017.”
