Default Some people like VTS, so how about ...

Nominate to keep?

HMs nominate who they want to stay, and the two or more with the fewest votes are put up for eviction

Would certainly clear the deadwood floaters.

I wouldn't mind this at all. The current format I feel does kind of kill the show as it goes on to the later weeks.

There'd still be complaints because the housemates would likely save the housemates that play a "be nice, help around the house" game (and are usually written off as the bores on here).

Nah because then it would just be "I nominate Barbara because she's such a friendly lovely gal and makes great spag bol!" which isn't entertaining

They should just do a mix of VTE/VTS tbh. Keep both parties happy.

But then people will complain when someone they like gets sent home in a VTE and then someone they hate is saved in a VTS.

They'll call it unfair.

No as the people who go up in normal nominations would be the same people who would go up if it was nominate to keep as obviously the people nominating them don't want them to stay.

Perhaps I worded it incorrectly - I meant that they should offer both VTS and VTE at the same time. That way, people can just use the voting method they prefer.

Cos the amount of votes you get to save would detract from the amount of votes you get to evict and then the person with the highest percentage still would get evicted.

It would basically stop all the good ones going as they'd get high votes to evict and high votes to save so would cancel each other out leaving them with a small percentage and then the bores would go as they'd get a smaller votes to save leaving them with a higher eviction percentage

Just sounds unnecessarily over complicated.

This is Big Brother, not the general election.

BBAU did it in 2006 and 2007 and I honestly didn't understand it at all.

This kind of happened in the first week of BB7 and we ended up losing Bonneh because of it.

I don't think it takes the wildest imagination to think Bonnie would've brought a lot more to the series than Glyn.

Don't come for Glyn

I have a bit of a soft spot for him... even though he was a dick by the end

In theory it could increase gameplay tenfold. On the other hand for the first few weeks you'll end up with people nominating each other because they give really good hugs.

Increasing gameplay is dull.

Does nobody else remember every episode packed with talk about the "power housemate" a couple of years back? So awful.

It depends for me. I wouldn't want gameplay talk to overwhelm the house events but it wouldn't if nomination talk wasn't allowed. I'm all for people using more strategic reasons for nominations though, and if there wasn't such an annoying taboo surrounding people being open about wanting to win I think more would.

I don't see why we can't just have VTS but keep it 2+ up, like BB13. That way if it's a head to head it's basically a VTE anyway so the VTE lovers are happy, and if 3 or more are up we get situations like the ABCD eviction

Actually they used to do it in Australia and it was in their considered golden years so it clearly worked.

Yeah, their golden years.... the year they were axed.

From what I recall theirs was a basic vote to save on the part of the viewers and then the housemates chose who to evict from the 2 with the fewest votes.
