Default Boy - seven - attacks woman with knife.

From Sky News:

A woman is being treated in hospital after being repeatedly stabbed by a seven-year-old boy.

Sara Corran was knifed in the leg, arm and buttocks by the child.

She had been arguing with the boy's mum, a friend, when the youngster grabbed a kitchen knife and attacker her.

Ms Corran was taken to hospital by ambulance and her injuries were described by police as "serious but not life-threatening".

The child, from Norris Green, Liverpool, was interviewed by officers but not arrested.

A neighbour said she believed the boy acted to protect his mother.

She said: "He is a mischievous little boy, like all young lads.

"He plays outside a lot and he's had my flowers up before, but he's not a bad lad or a wild child.

"He's a nice little lad but I think he's seen the red mist and tried to protect his mum.

"It's absolutely terrible. It reminds me of the James Bulger murder, with him being so young."

Another neighbour said the women were good friend but argued and fought when they have a drink together.

A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said: "We are investigating a stabbing in which a woman in her early 20s needed hospital treatment.

"A child was spoken to but not arrested. The investigation is ongoing, and we will be working with other appropriate agencies."
