Default a question for everyone

ok, now a quick intro. I'm a huge fan of Big Brother USA and basically love how they play the game over there and the tasks, OMG the tasks are MUCH better than what they have over here, especially the opening night tasks.

Now anyway, my question is. Do you think for BB8 or even any of the future big brother series's that they will end up taking after the US series and incorporating some of their ideas?

At the moment I am crossing my fingers galore, however I doubt its ever going to happen, but what do you think?

Thanks.

I haven't watched much of BB USA but from the little I have watched I don't think it's that good. Can't beat good old BB UK!

from the amount of feedback ive heard bout BBUSA, i would only hope BBUK doesnt go down that route. i think the originality of BBUK is what makes it special and it shoudnt take inspiration from anywhere, let alone BBUSA.

I think we should stick our own traditions rather than copying anything off the American version. You need a degree of seperation between the shows or they all merge into one and lose their own individual identity.

Personally I think BB-USA is utter rubbish. So I would hope that ours doesn't follow their lead.

I've never seen it but I've heard it's not all that. Obviously it's aimed towards an American audience and us in Blighty like things our own way

yeah I know its aimed towards the american audience and to be honest I've sat down and watched full seasons giving it a chance rather than going on other people's opinions with the show.. and I love it.. espcially the tasks they do.. they actually spend time considering what they should do and what not, but thats my honest opinion.

I'm a big fan myself, and would love to at least have some of the tasks imported from the seasons in america to the uk. Don't get me wrong, our series is unique and will also be that way and a im great fan of the UK series (apart from the last... didnt keep my interest long enough).. oh wells, I'll stop rambling now, anything I say at the moment sounds like mush at hte moment lol :P

I hope that they'll stick with BBUK ideas instead of looking abroad for inspiration.

true, true.. but at the same time, you need to look elsewhere for inspiration for a show that has been running for so long.

I've watch series's (not big brother) that have lasted 8 or 9.. hell there are a few out there that are in their 15th+ and now having to look for inspiration elsewhere.. and in the end they'll have to cave in sometime and look for inspiration aboard or whatever else... just my opinion.

oh and if I dont sound like im making any sense, then please do tell me, because I'm half asleep at the minute :P lol

i think the big brother format is so broad that which a good creative team, they can keep BBUK original for many more years. its a challenge for the bosses of bb to make sure what they're presenting is original every year. other countries are using our ideas for tasks and they havnt even had as many series as us yet. plus, i think BBUK is more drama focused that task oriented.

I have read some amazing comments in this thread. The number of people who have basically implied that we wouldn't get an American style show......Hang on!!!! How many of us watch American shows like Friends, Greys Anatomy, Lost, 24, Heroes etc I could go on.

Personally, I'd like Laszlo to explain how the tasks differ and then I'll make my mind up.

Okies, give me about an hour or so then I'll explain.. need to get some images to do it XD.. so that means me downloading some episodes or doing a search around lol.

But basically, take the opening episodes of BBUS's.. Season 4, podiums that went pretty well high up.. the way its done in its own way, making it look pretty good.. Season 5, Project DNA.. the whole DNA thing... I know I sound idiotic when I say all this, and I know that the americans have a lot more money to invest into their shows.. but I personally prefer their tasks..

and also, I love the backstabbing over there... its done in a unique way and on top of it, they actually DO play a game to earn their money...

okies... yeah, give me an hour or so.. unless your happy with the explanation above.. lol.. its kinda hard to explain without the images in front of me. *pulls out BBUS4 disc*

dont get me wrong, I dont want it to go like the BBUS series, thats what I'm not trying to put across anyway, just do you think they'll ever in-corporate some of their ideas, task, series ideas, hell even letting the nomination talk rule disappear...

Oh yeah, Girth, cant get hold of the images at the minute. In a queue on mIRC towards getting the files I need to cap the images and google isnt letting me find the images *goes to check CBS official website*

well it only resembled bb! it wasnt made by endemol and was aired on TV3 for about 9 weeks! housemates had to answer questions and if you didnt answer a certain ammount you were chucked out! it was a mixture of a general knowledge quiz and traditional bb! as i said before- pure scutter!!!! bbuk rules!!! im so goin for the dublin auditon when im 18!!!

yea me too^

im sure i flicked on the USA one once before and it was WEIRED... like they had much more contact with outside world ETC.... like when thhey get evicted theres no crowd and they just walk out a door into another room and the presenter is just there and stuff....

BB UK is alot better.

Admittedly, I have only watched BBUK so far (from BB6, so I'm a bit of a novice, and im slowly getting in to BBAU), but I still think they should keep the show as original as possible.
