Might visit for a birthday weekend now. The black cab prices are a so off putting.

Thats such a touristy thing to say , the tubes are always busy especially between 11pm and midnight and there is a night tube at weekends on some lines so unless you are clubbing or staying somewhere awful you can get by without using taxis
