The lady who runs our local post office is Chinese and the guy before me in the queue today bought her a card to celebrate, it was quite sweet

That said, Year of the Rat isn't the most appealing term

... ‘Ang Pows’ or red packets/envelopes are filled with money and given out by Chinese people all over the world during Chinese New Year as a gift of good luck and prosperity...there is a Barbie collector, Jian Yang...who collects the red envelopes each year and transforms them into fashions for his Barbie collection...they are just stunningly exquisite......
