Special day for X Factor\'s Leon
Quote:
Special day for X Factor's Leon West Lothian Council has agreed to organise a civic reception in X Factor winner Leon Jackson's home town of Whitburn.
The Scots teen found fame on the show, which he cemented when he triumphed in Saturday night's final.
Provost Tom Kerr said: "I have already sent my personal congratulations to Leon, who is a fine ambassador for West Lothian.
"We hope to make arrangements for a civic reception early in the New Year to recognise his great achievement in winning the X Factor competition."
Depute Provost Jim Dickson from Whitburn added: "The whole town was buzzing on Saturday night. Hundreds of people from Whitburn couldn't get through to vote for Leon.
"His well-deserved success is a tremendous boost for Whitburn, West Lothian and the whole of Scotland."
Leon is to make a personal appearance at the HMV store in Livingston, West Lothian, tomorrow (Wednesday), followed by a free live performance in the town's Almondvale shopping mall.
