There is an old saying, "No one is above the law"

I would say that that is rot

Some people are above the law, because no body in there right mind would dare testify against them.

In this example teenagers are allowed to get away because the teacher will not testify as the girl's father is a gangster.

I came up against it some years ago. These people know the law in order to break the law. They can have you done over, and they will have an alibi , and since the appeal court got rid of anonymous giving of evidence, the defence is entitled to know exactly who is testifying against their client, so more prosecutions fail.

Ergo - Some people can and are above the law and can commit even murder and get away with it.
