Default Big Brother\'s Rebecca set for charity run

Quote:
BIG BROTHER'S Rebecca will be joining hundreds of Coventry families to take part in the city's mini-marathon.

The bubbly 21-year-old will be starting Monty's Mini Marathon, which runs alongside the Cassidy Lady Godiva Half Marathon, on October 19.

Yesterday, Rebecca Shiner - aka Bex - met with some of the excited children planning to take part in the race and admitted she is a bit nervous about taking on the 1.5 mile running challenge.

"I'm going to try and do it well but I think the kids will be running faster than me. I'll be on the ground crawling along. I've not really run before," she said.

"I tried to do the Coventry Fun Run when I was little but my mum ended up having to carry me.

"But I'm very happy to support a charity event. I've done some photos for breast cancer charities because my mum had breast cancer, and I'm hoping to do a lot more for charity."

The event is being held to raise money for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and organ-isers are hoping to raise more than £1m.

Paul Claridge, race director, said: "It's great to have Bex involved because lots of young people know who she is and will show up to come and see her. She also emphasises the fun element of our event."

Cathy Clapinson, marketing officer for the city council, said: "Bex agreed straight away to take part. She's crazy about Coventry. As a nursery nurse she also has a great enthusiasm for children.

"We want lots of people to take part and she's getting the message out there. She's a brilliant role model for encouraging young people to be positive about Coventry."

Bex arrived at yesterday's photoshoot with fellow contestant Luke Marsden.

The pair have become inseparable since leaving the Big Brother house and after the photos were off to Holiday Hypermarket, in Central Six, to book their first holiday together.

Although the visit was not publicised fans were delighted to spot the couple outside the Transport Museum and the pair happily posed for pictures and signed autographs.

*Awaits series of posts comparing her to Jade, calling her fat and that her boobs will hold her down*

It's nice that she's doing lots of stuff for her home town!

Thanks for this Gazbo! I'm always too scared to post any Bex stuff incase people e-throw something at me!

I don't think they're going on holiday anymore because Luke's MySpace the day of that was 'Mr Marsden can't believe how diffucult it is to book a last minute holiday' and they've been seen every day since then but who knows!

Bless Bex doing the kiddies run.

No problem, thank God for Google Alerts, I don't know what I'd do without them for my BB goss fix!

I'm thinking of doing a weekly little thing of ex-housemate gossip tibbits when BB9 is over. Like a weekly thing or something. So we can keep up-to-date with all our ex-housemates.

I'm not sure whether you're taking the piss of me or genuinely like the idea. But for the sake of others reading this, I'll reply to the latter.

Yes I do get updates on some ex-housemates. Stories on Michelle, Brian Dowling, Nikki, Chanelle, Brian Belo, Aisleyne, Kate, Gerry, Ziggy, Craig Phillips, Anna, Dean, Liam and Charley do pop up from time to time.

She is, but the money she's given and sponsored with goes to charity.

Christ, you'd hate her if she single-handedly saved the world from global warming...just because you think she wanted the attention.

Good on her.

I hope she takes a few pack of tic tacs around with her, cos it's gna take more than a "refreshing little lift" to get her past the finishing line.
