Freud came up with a few theories that we are all motivated by sex and came up with some things like the oedipus complex (where a little boy is supposed to want to have sex with his mum) and the electra complex which is the same but the other way girl and her dad.
Loads of people through the years have criticised him for it and saying its a load of rubbish and saying how theres no such thing when theres children and sex just makes up a part of our life, but is it a load of rubbish?
I don't think things like the oedipus complex is true, but I think he has a point about the rest of the things. After reading a load of posts on here lately and even just thinking about general conversation in real life, a lot have been about sex, the funniest jokes are always about sex and in some ways even the most innocent of things can suddenly be about sex (e.g. a pepper mill

)
So, are we motivated by it and its what we live for or is it just a part of our lives?
