Big Brother could run for thirty years.

According to the Daily Star television chiefs are so happy with the success of this year's show that they believe the show could carry on for as long as thirty years.

They'd planned for next year's show to be the last. But now they think the ratings are too good to lose.

Talks are also under way for a third Celebrity Big Brother this winter.

A Channel 4 insider said: "If we told show makers Endemol we didn't want it any more, they be free to take it to ITV or C5."

"Who knows - we could be talking about how brilliant Big Brother 30 is in years to come."

BB5 pulled in an average audience of five million viewers.

Friday night's final drew nine million, second only to this year's Channel 4 record for the finale of Friends.
