How does it feel that Bea sees herself as a bohemian hippy type? She even has a real fur coat in her wardrobe.
From the moment that woman walked in with dyed blonde hair and extensions, I knew she was no hippy. The free love thing is just Bea's justification for never keeping a man for more than a day. |

I agree, Bea is no hippie! Hippies are about peace, love and understanding. She clearly doesn't understand any of those concepts. Does she really have real fur stuff too?

The first time I saw her doing her extensions I was confused. I lost a bit of my liking for her, because that just screamed "Poser"!

Her Hippy status is the ultimate joke. She could close a commune in a matter of days.

AOAJunky - Very basically (and I do mean basically) but I will debate it if people start. Bohemian, which Bea would be trying for the claim are/were artists/writers that lived for their art, but generally without much sucess so live in poor conditions, in cities in clusters or groups that bond with each other. A cultural reference would be Withnail and I. I would say they are bohemian, not hippy. Key cities would be Prague and Paris (Paris later) Hippy, Sprung out of the early 1960's counter culture movement (which was heavily influenced by Owsley's LSD) and is more loving and communal, more earthly. Key City being San Francisco. Both are essentially seen as dirty and drugged up (alcohol and downers for Bohemians, and pot, lsd, mushrooms for the hippies) both have artistic elements, but bohemians strive for artistic recognition (not success but recognition, whereas Hippies are less caring and do it more for the sake of enjoyment). As such can be seen as the same, but in truth they are different. Bea is not a hippy, nor a bohemian. I have a huge interest in the counter culture, which hippies are a part of, to say Bea is a hippy gives hippies a bad name. Mentioning Aura and stuff doesn't make you a hippy, nor do tarot cards ENID - I second what Junky said. Bea is not a bohemian, she is just trying to imitate the clothing style, and failing. Most of the stuff she wears looks like it has been bought at fashionable high street stores, which completely ****ing counters what the bohemian lifestyle is all about. She is nothing that she claims to be, she isn't positive, she isn't a hippy and she isn't bohmeian. What she is is a west country girl that is overly self involved and is often deluded and doesn't live up to the image that she created for herself. I dont think she is faking she is just totally unaware of how she comes across. I just hope that everyone knows that she isn't bohemian or a hippy. I have a fondness for both of the cultures, one that I wouldn't want tainted by Bea. |
