There is so many cases a year where dogs end up seriously hurting or even killing babies. Its really upsetting.
I dont get why someone would do it though??? Even if its a family dog that is very well behaved they can still always be a threat. Apparently sometimes children are attacked because they stare at the dog, which the dog sees a threat and will attack?? I dont know if it was only a rumour though. What I am asking is that Would you leave a baby in a room with a dog??? I wouldn't. |

Never there is a danger Dog + Baby.
Especially if it gets jealous. Generally though unless a baby is sleeping it should be in a room on its own right? |

LOL if youd met my dog you wouldnt be saying "all dogs are a threat" she's scared of my cats and of my rat.
i think it's really at the parents discretion, but you shouldnt be leaving a baby in a room alone without a monitor or a dog in a room alone if you dont want it to rip stuff up anyway. |

Lassie would look after the baby as you go pub or play on PS3.

They aways say the kid was doing nothing, but how do the mum and dad know if they was in the other room? When i was baby i was bitted by our dog hes as died now
![]() But i fall on him and i don't blame him or any thing for doing it to me. So i don't agree with them but put down, when a human kills someone do they get put down no, that why it unfair for dogs to get that done to them. Our dog didn't get put down btw |

I hate you all.

I would with a Doberman. They are instinctively very protective of children, and if trained professionally they could make one hell of a baby sitter.

Anyone how would leave a baby in a room with a dog is retarded. No matter how well trained the are a pack animal and could see the new addition as a threat to it's status in the pack.

While it's not advisable to do so, I think a lot more people have done it than will admit to it.
If you are a busy parent trying to juggle umpteen things at once, I can see it being quite easy to absentmindedly leave the room to pick up a ringing phone or what have you and leave Baby and Rover alone for a few minutes. And if Rover's got free roam of the house, well, all you have to do is forget to close a door, and there you go. So although I'd never consciously decide to do it, I don't think it necessarily makes someone who does it a bad parent or bad dog-owner. |

Depends on 1) the kind of dog and 2) where you're leaving the baby. If you're leaving the baby in a cot on a raised surface; and you have a tiny celebrity-handbag-dog, you could probably do it all the time and even if the dog wanted to bite the baby, it wouldn't be able to, whereas if you're leaving the baby to crawl around on the floor next to a pitbull or something, that's sheer stupidity. In general though, I don't think I would leave a baby alone with a dog.
