To be fair, he didn't defend the ridiculous behaviour. He did all he could, in pointing out that Marcus has had a tough week, with some significant emotional issues to deal with - even if they were to a large extent of his own making - and for that reason he should be cut some slack.

I think Bea was a right little bitch to say what she had to say in front of everyone. She should have taken him to one side and said it. But then it was the day before noms and she wanted everyone to know she was not happy with him. She is a clever little schemer and knows how to play the game using mind games.
