I spent the first few weeks of bb severely disliking Lisa, and I know there are a lot of people who still hate her, based on those first few weeks when she was so horrible, but I would like to put a case for people changing their minds about her, or at least giving her the benefit of the doubt ...

She has changed a lot. She came in as the Lisa she has obviously been in the outside world ... a big fighty aggressive ball of defensiveness against the majority of society who probably villify her because she is in several categories that many people think is reason enough to hate anyone ... lesbian, on the dole, not well educated, etc. Her reaction to that has obviously been to fight against them, and gather a group of cronies around her to feel safer. When she came in, Freddie probably personified the kind of person she most feared ... posh, rich, etc. ... and she perceived his relentless peacemaking attempts as personal attacks on her, like the whole argument when Sophia was being evicted.

I think being in big brother has changed her a lot, as she has become absorbed into this new mini-society, like they all have. She is a lot mellower now, and can be really sweet I think, like last night when she was helping advise Rodrigo on how to give the queen sugar in her tea etc. I'm sure if people had to base their opinions on her just on the last couple of weeks, especially since she believes the public have saved her from an eviction, there wouldn't be nearly so much Lisa hating going on.

Phew .. what a long speech. I think I must be putting off going to work.

Anyway, if you think I'm talking crap, please let me know.

To be honest, it is nice to see someone making a coherent defence of Lisa rather than simply trying to rewrite the early history of this year's Big Brother to accord with their current likes and dislikes. Good on you.

I disagree with your general thesis that she has changed to any significant degree. I think it is the circumstances of the House that have changed, not her character. I am kind of sceptical that someone could change to such a degree in such a short amount of time but there you go.
