Default Live feed moaners were right all along

A lot of us were calling them saying it won't have an impact on the show etc, yet when you look at BB ratings it clearly has.

I don't believe for a second that half of the audience have just suddenly got bored of BB. If anything this years Celeb BB shown how much interest there still is in BB. It launched with 6.1m ranking it at 7th most watched launch, which out of 15 series ranks it middleish. The BB10 final will be watched by about 3.4m by the time the officials are in, so where the hell have almost 3m viewers gone in the space of 9 months?!

Then you need to look, what did 2009 do differently that 2000-2008 didn't do? Even if BB has fell so much in popularity, I strongly doubt it would be that fast or that much on its own.

It aint a question of if BB want Live Feed or not, it depends on Channel 4, I think you BB fans have enough already taking up 200 hours in the Channel 4 networks schedule

I never used it and won't use it if its back, I don't really care if 2m or 20m watch it, just as long as I enjoy it But I'm just saying how we all doubted those who wanted it said it would impact the show greatly and thought it would still get a good 4-5m viewers in total

The streaming in question was a separate channel btw

Yeah but there was a lot of BB Live on E4 in the old days, to me BB would have survived better if it was just the highlights, as it wouldnt be as "in your face" then

I do think the lack of LF this year has made a big difference, it's where the newspapers used to get a lot of their stories from because people would be talking about it in the forums and we got to see more of what went on.

Funny how this year without it there has been little to no coverage in the papers.

Obviously the viewing figures were already well down on previous years, even last year, so it's been in decline anyway, but the lack of LF has made it even worse.

i do believe many of the papers said back in january that they wouldn't touch big brother 10 if the 24/7 live feed wasn't reinstated.
i know noirin and sophie have or will be in the star but they are perfect fodder for the star readers
i think the sun and the daily mirror basically have ignored the series.
i know the daily mirror did a double page feature on one day but that was only about channel 4 dumping the show

I have always watched the live feed as much as possible and have always been totally hooked. Although i enjoyed BB10 a lot i did not enjoy it as much as usual there was something missing it just wasn`t the same and i must say that if there had been no live feed in previous years i would not have gotten so addicted to BB. With no live feed it became a different show .I`ve signed every petition that i`ve found to bring it back for BB11 i so hope they do.

Think about this : 400,000 seperate, unique people watched Live Feed during Big Brother 9 - about a sixth of it's audience. The regular feed view was about a quater of this. Those quater who always watched live feed were the HARDCORE FANS who watched Big Brother 10 anyway. It may have had an impact through word of mouth, but it was a miniscule one.

We still need a better explanation for one million Big Brother fans dissapearing overnight. And I think this years atrocious, gimmicky launch night is to blame. Much more than the live feed. The figures speak for themselves.

The reasons why there was such a fall in viewers from launch to finale are down to a few aspects.

1) Yes the LF being axed meant viewers weren't able to get to know the HMs characters at all.
2) A lot of viewers were put off this year due to BB messing around with format, re evictions, nominations
3) A lot of viewers were put off with the obvious highly edited and favouritised HL shows, which we all know happened.
4) The eviction show interviews were farcical again.

BB/Channel 4 haven't allowed the viewers to form any sort of relationship with any of the HMs this year, so people weren't that bothered with watching anymore.
I for one think this year had a potential for being a very very good series (it wasn't too bad), but there was very little effort put in by the production staff and it showed.
I'm not holding my breath for the last BB

I think the Live feed made for less exciting episodes and final.
