I liked how the Star Trek movie didn't require all of that geek knowledge to understand it, unlike the Star Wars ones.

Star Trek, as I grew up watching it (though I did with Star Wars too, but that was only three films :P)

Star Wars. I never got into Star Trek, though the recent movie was brilliant.

It has to be Star Trek!
It's smarter, and just better.
It was WAY ahead of it's times when it came out in the 60's.
One of the first hopeful sci-fi shows that wasn't, like Star Wars, about evil and war.
Star Trek educates as well as inspires.

STAR TREK IS FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR BETTER!

I think A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back are classics but I'll go for Star Trek because it's a much more expansive Universe. Every series is so interesting and intelligent rather than fantastical or wishy washy.

Lol, that reminds my of that epsiode of Apsolutely Fabulous, where the girl told Patsy she couldn't smoke in the theatre and she responded with;
"DON'T BE SO BLOODY STUPID"
LOL!
