am i the onyl one who genuinely thinks his performance was fanatastic? The vocals were pretty good considering everything going on around stage and it was his debut performance. The kiss and dancer in his crotch were a bit out there but lets face it, if Lady GaGa had done that no one would care.

He's is trying SO hard to be a male GaGa. Back to the drawing board, Lambert. It's a wonder why he wasn't kicked off after his 'Ring Of Fire' performance for crimes against music.

He probably is, but I don't see that as a bad thing, it's an open market. I'm all for it and I liked that performance. He's the most interesting and exciting thing ever to come from American Idol.

[and Kris won because he's better looking, more relatable and straight, imo :P]

It was an embarrassing performance. And very dissapointing, considering that most people think Adam Lambert is a great vocalist. HE was flat with his vocals, and only aimed to shock. He didnt gain any fans, if anything, he lost some of his already rich fan base.
There was nothing fantasti about it, apart from a car rash eurovison type performance. ANd it had nothing to do with him being gay. I wouldve been just as annoyed, if it was a female doing the oral sex simulation
Its sad because I was looking forward to a great performance all night waiting for the finale.

ANd no, I dont think thats why Adam Lambert lost, because he didnt do anything of the sort on AI. HE lost because its more diffiult for someone like him to win over a clean cut singer like Kris. But Adam will still be way more successful in spite of that dreadful performance.

I don't think anyone is implying it's to do with his sexuality, though I personally think the backlash is for the most part, down to his gender.

and also, i was not a fan of his up until I saw that performance and released how talented he really is.

But I dont get that! Because, he wasnt anywhere near as good as on AI! So the only thing I can think of, is you liked the whole shock value performance. SO you only like him because he did the whole oral sex simulation, and S&M stuff. Since you werent a fan, when he was actually singing great on AI, youre not interested in good vocals. If so, thats fair enough.

So just because you don't agree with him you're saying his only a fan of the shock tactics?

Adam's performance was less controlled then on AI but it was still a rather interesting vocal that went with the style of the performance. Perfection is boring.

No, I only went by what mrgarry said. And he is entitled to like him for the theatrics of the performance, which he obviously did. He didnt like him on AI, and he like him now. Its pretty obvious why he likes him. And like I said, thats fair enough, everyone has a reason why they like a performer.

You would say he was nowhere as good, I would say he was better there, because he was being himself totally and utterly and thats a self I like. He was fitting into a mould they had set out for him on AI, here's he's doing his own thing, having fun and doing something a little different to everyone else who had performed. As an artist he excites me, I'm just a tad offended you think the only reason I've begun to support him is doing do him getting a BJ on stage.

But he was never fitting to a mould even on AI, he was always different. My only point is, on AI, he had great vocals. And on the AMA's his vocals were bad.
And I dont mean just the blow job, I meant the whole theatrics of the performance. BUt like I said before, there is nothing wrong with that. But isnt it fair to say that the vocals dont really matter to you then?

It was a very daring performance I'll give him that. The vocals were everywhere but at least he sang live which other artist doing big routines wouldn't have. He's entitled to have one or two bad performances since he was consistantly brilliant in AI. He's definately different to a lot of AI contestants.

I like Adam's music.

Not personally his performances.

However, I like Kris' performances and his music. Kris was the rightful winner.

His performance vocally was not anything to brag about and it was definitely not appropriate for prime time tv.

But didn't his performance air at 11 o clock at night? Didn't Gaga bleed all over the stage at the MTV awards? Where was the controversy about violence or whatever with that? the backlash against him is (mostly) sexism and homophobia. The only really questionable part of that performance was the groin thrusts really but in reality it was a very tame performance, it's just the more conservative side of America making a storm in a tea cup.

Wait did you really just compare ABC to MTV?

Still a relevant point, MTV would have attracted a younger audience to see Gaga's performance and yet nothing was said about the violence in her performance, yet a few risque dance moves and a gay kiss sets the world on fire. I'd say at least 80% of the people who have made complaints in America about Adam's performances are homophobic, I'd bet most complaints were about the kiss rather then the pelvic thrusts.
