He's right, and this is nothing to do with the BNP. He is telling it how it is but people often shy away from the truth and hide behind words such as 'Multiculturalism' and 'Racism'.

This is true to an extent but the majority of immigrants who are found here illegally will get deported.

Last estimate was that there are at least a million illegal immigrants in this country that Clegg and his woolyminded party want to give amnesty to, which will then enable those newly "legal" immigrants to bring mum, dad, wife, kids, granny etc over here as well.

This figure includes hundreds of thousands of failed asylum seekers, visa overstayers and children born to illegal immigrant parents. New Labour's inability to control immigration has massively disadvantaged the legitimate population here, so instead of talking amnesty, they should be talking rounding up and deporting. It is incredibly naive for people to believe that there are measures already in place that can identify and deport illegals.

I misunderstood Shashown in the first few lines. Mainly because it's more difficult to leave those countries than actually enter them.

If you can, see the Simpson's episode from season 7 episode 23

That informs my view on the perception of how immigrants are blamed for societies ills

Pretty much any organisation or system that is designed to help people is going to be abused or taken advantage of by some. For instance certain Hizb ut Tahrir members who arrived with an asylum application and are now living on insane benefits.

But what is your solution? A cap on the number of asylum seekers that can be permitted refugee status? As if this alters the real situation with illegal immigration which is not refugees, but the hundreds of thousands of people who arrive with a passport or forged VISA to work as cheap labour for undeclared employers.

It's clearly a geographic thing - since it depends to what extent your neighbourhood has changed beyond all recognition in the past 13 years. No-one wants to feel a stranger in their own land, and their are parts of inner cities which are no go areas for the indigenous population, and THAT is not on.

It is very easy to be tolerant and generous with resources if you don't live in an area where there are few immigrants and plenty to go around.

The Simpsons may be a cartoon, but it has a reputation of being an astute commentary on our lives in the tradition of a Gilray cartoon.

Sticks I find the way you have underhandedly accused me of racism to be offensive.

An Asylum seeker is a refugee granted immunity under International Law from arrest and/or extradition on the grounds of possible threats of violence or maltreatment in their original country

An Immigrant is someone who enters another country with the intention of settling there.

If you read the original Post I think you will find it doesnt mention immigrants, its about people seeking asylum and targeting this country and the fact this country is a soft touch for not only legitimate asylum seekers but also those who are merely wanting to settle here for personal gain not for protection and safety.

Asylum is about a place of safety, yet there are many safe countries between their country of origin and here.

The fact we allow so many to abuse the system will in itself produce problems when people in genuine need of asylum in this country are looked upon with suspicion as opposed to sympathy.

Incidentally do you have a Simpson episode that deals specifically with Asylum seekers?

Any attempts to debate the massive immigration problem we have is inevitably met with the brainwashed politically correct idiot's shouts of "racism" designed to prevent any meaningful or constructive discussion. It is we, the indigenous population, who now feel alienated and disenfranchised - it's a fractured society alright, and that is another crime to lay at New Labour's door.
