Dave seems like a right weak character, he can give the love but if he talks to shabby trying to get his point across, and she gives it "look dave" he clams up and diverts his eyes.

I think in the real world dave will be around young impressionable people he feels he can control.. I don't like dave no more, he is weak.

OP the problem is not with Dave it's Shabby how can you not even see that? She's too agressive, confrontational and unwilling to let things slide, only wanting to make them bigger and more intense... which incidentally, Dave does not want to happen, cos' he has the intelligence to acknowledge that there is no good in that.

She only has to say "look dave" and you can almost see him whimpering in defeat, like I said he isn't used to people answering him back like she does, he is a manipulator IMO, but can't manipulate her.So therefore he is scared of her.Perhaps he sees the devil.

Dave just doesn't want to provoke her or even allow her any excuse to be 'provoked', because he knows it will not achieve anything and will just cause disruption and upset. He's a wimp for being able to hold himself back?

Some people can just let it lie and they don't feel annoyed by it, Dave seems to be one, sadly I've not worked out how to it myself yet...
