I though he had a good point about the dodgy news paper reporting that's been going on about Alex's so called porn pix. He's a funny chap though all the same, especially when the shower incident was going to turn into a row between him and pj, if Dermot had let it.

Eccentricity as displayed in Alex's father adds to the rich tapestry of life and the world would be a much poorer place indeed without it.

I dare say it would grind after a while but most eccentrics are quite reclusive, so it wouldn't be too much of an issue.

I actually admired the way he came to support Alex.

Yes Oldgit, the bloke is very annoying, but it makes me empathise with Alex a little more.

He is a typical proper little chap who was never allowed to get his dungarees dirty. No brother's and sisters, mummy's precious little 'Pop'.

I don't think 'Alexander' is a bad bloke. After all, he is obviously from a very comfortable home, but he's nowhere near as elitist as ghastly Tim.

You have to feel sorry for anyone whose Dad has a portrait of himself a' la Jock Ewing, over the mantelpiece.

If it's the guy I'm thinking of, he was in Star Trek, the original series in several episodes, and I think he was in the TV series Beauty And The Beast, as well as many appearances in films.

I can see him in my head, but I don't know a name.
