LemonJam was just telling me he missed my random and ultimately pointless music competition-threads, and this is one I've been tempted to make for a while now. I stole the format idea from musical cesspit 'Popjustice', which is currently down to its semi-finals of a "Song of 2009" contest (4 extremely predictable songs: The Fear, Bad Romance, Poker Face, Remedy).

I'd have done a song survivor but that's apparently 'Rory's' thing (who? exactly.) So instead I'm finding out who TiBB (you lovely bunch of informed and cultured beauties........) would crown the greatest thing to sprout from the 21st Century so far.

So. I need some candidates. I'll now make a list - since if I open this up to you, I'll get more than I need and then be stuck with how to cut the wheat from the chaff.

Rules of Qualification:
- said artist can be a soloist, group, band, vacuous XFactor ***** or cartoon-band.
- said artist MUST have started out in the 2000s. By this, I mean their first commercial release (either single or album, whichever was first) must have been AFTER 31. December 1999. It's no good suggesting to me Oasis, U2 or even Britney because they released material in the 90s (and before, in U2's case).

That's all that need apply. I'll then draw up a bunch of qualifiers. For the first eliminator round I will need 160 acts, which I'll get working on now. Feel free to reply with your own (remembering to adhere to the above guidelines). I might even feel compelled to include them.
