One of my clients misheard my name once (she'd a deaf old lady) and now every time she phones up/comes in the office she asks for 'Steph', I just don't bother correcting her anymore

That name one I can relate to.

A place I used to work a guy who was only part-time started to call me the wrong name and because I was too polite to correct him he persisted until an embarrassing incident like 6 months later when he called it me in front of an office full of quite a few people who pointed it out straight away. We laughed it off but I could have died of shame.

I have a different surname to my kids and have never been married (the shame lol). I got so sick of teachers at their school even after years calling me 'Mrs' i took to wearing my name badge from work and tapping it everytime they got it wrong
