I think if they have suspicion or need to do so then fine. They were not merely spying on him to get a story and causing him anguish in the process.

It's one of the few good outcomes of hacking. In some instances I am happy they hack some people's phones and emails. But there have been some obvious cases where it's been awful
|

If this is going to be taken as an argument for legislating the ability for police and the government to check all of our emails then you're grasping at straws to be quite honest.

I think it also refers back to the debate of snooping on e-mails/web browsing. It should actually be done by the proper authorities.
