They may have seemed like the best of friends on the X Factor judging panel but all has changed between Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh.

The 59-year-old Irish star has hit back at Cheryl's claims that he 'never managed' Girls Aloud and 'just took a cheque' saying: 'I've no idea why she's made these comments but, in my eyes, it says a lot about her.'

Louis' response comes after the 28-year-old pop star spoke about the girl band's big break during an interview with Marie Claire magazine.

During the interview with the glossy magazine, the Fight For This Love singer went on to say that Girls Aloud reached their success on their own after winning the ITV1 show Popstars in 2002.

'We never had management. Louis claimed to be our manager but he never did it,' she said.

'We didn't talk to him or anything like that. He just took a cheque.

'Literally, we didn't have management.'

According to the Daily Mirror, Louis has been left stunned by Cheryl's opinion and has even said that their 'friendship is over.'

'I was always the first to defend her on the X Factor, and always watched her back' Walsh said.

'I won't stand for anyone criticising me professionally and if I was in London right now I'd give her a piece of my mind.'

Singer Tweedy guilty of assault

A jury has found Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Tweedy guilty of assaulting a nightclub worker.

The pop star has been sentenced to complete 120 hours of unpaid community service and must also pay her victim Ł500 compensation.

Tweedy was additionally ordered to pay Ł3,000 of prosecution costs.

The singer had denied attacking toilet attendant Sophie Amogbokpa, saying she only punched her in self-defence.

The jury had reached a unanimous verdict that the 20-year-old, from Heaton in Newcastle, was not guilty of a racially aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

But they found her guilty of an alternative charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The charges against Tweedy stemmed from an incident at the Drink nightclub in Guildford, Surrey, on 11 January.

Tweedy, one of five members of Girls Aloud which was formed in the television series Pop Stars The Rivals, punched the toilet attendant after Mrs Amogbokpa tried to stop her taking some lollipops.

The judge at Kingston Crown Court told the jury there was no question that 39-year-old Mrs Amogbokpa had been injured in the incident but they had to decide whether the singer had acted in self-defence.

The jury of seven men and five women reached a unanimous not guilty verdict on the racial assault charge but were unable to agree over the alternative charge.

Judge Richard Haworth told the jury he would accept a majority verdict and the jurors decided by 11 to one that Tweedy was guilty.

Sentencing Tweedy, he criticised her for showing no remorse over the attack.

He said: "This was an unpleasant piece of drunken violence which caused Sophie Amogbokpa pain and suffering.

"You showed no remorse whatsoever."

IIRC, Tweedy used to be very hairy, particularly on the face, arms and stomach - she's still got the high but narrow forehead with her side hair starting just above her eyebrows - very neanderthal .....
